Chris Rado nominated for Speedhunters 2011 Personality of The Year

Via speedhunters.com “It takes a certain type of individual to really stand out and make a difference to the lives of others. The automotive world is no different. So this year, we dug deep and picked out a handful of individuals that stood out and made a difference in the car world. At the end of the day, an automobile is just a cold hunk of metal. It takes the beating heart of a driven and passionate personality to turn it nto something with a soul.”

Chris is honored to be considered for this gracious award! Wish him luck!!

Paddock & Parking:
Everyone will be allowed two vehicles in the paddock, 1) your track vehicle and 2) a support vehicle. “Support vehicle” could be your street car, truck, etc. OR your trailer, but not both (semi tractors may stay attached to their trailers, as long as you can fit in the parking space). We will have paddock marshals and security patrolling the paddock. You will be required to move unauthorized vehicles, empty trailers, etc. to one of the parking lots. DO NOT PARK IN THE PRE-GRID AREA!
There are two paddock maps. Each one shows the details of a different part of the paddock. Please study BOTH drawings.
Please note the “RESERVED PARKING” area on the Infineon GTA Paddock-North map, across from the tower entrance. It’s a 25×80 area that is labeled “Tower Officials Parking Only.” That doesn’t mean ANY official, either. This means the people that work in Race Control and T&S. Unless you are one of these people, please do not park in that space.
IMPORTANT PADDOCK RULES! Please review these very carefully, so that you and your friends may enjoy your weekend more safely and without concern of being ejected for breaking one of these simple but very strict rules: http://www.nasaproracing.com/norcal/events/paddock_rules.pdf
Sound Limit:
There is a STRICT sound limit of 103 dBA measured 50’ from the line on driver’s right, apex of T12. Attempts to fool the meter or lift will easily be detected by the track’s dedicated sound person (they hate that!). So, please prepare to adjust your muffling system if necessary. This is the same standard that has been in place for years. Nothing new here. I just felt that I should remind everyone.
Lunch Time:
Please help alleviate long wait times at the concession stand by planning on meals at other-than-peak-hours. No one wants to stand in a long line and wait for their food. As participants you will have lots of opportunity to visit the restaurant. We want everyone to enjoy all aspects of their day, which does not include standing in line for 30 minutes!

WORLD Racing 2011 Webisode #8: Breaking Records In The Garden State

After months of intense preparatory work on FWING 2.0, the World Racing team packs everything up and heads across country for the 2nd Global Time Attack event at NJ Motorsports Park.

Scott Stanwood and Eric Plebani problem solve some issues with the master cylinder after the first qualifying session, while Mike Alejos searches all over New Jersey for a much needed waste gate. In lieu of the needed part, Eric and Scott “Frankenstein” together a waste gate from some extra Turbonetics supplies on the truck . According the Christian Rado “the guys made some makeshift modifications to get the car on the road. For all intensive purposes, it worked, but the car made 51 lbs. of boost EVERYWHERE!”

The following morning, the boys get the car dialed and in the first GTA TIME ATTACK session, Rado destroys the previous FWD track record by 8 SECONDS, his best lap time a 1:05:481.

Fwing 2.0 will debut September 17th and 18th 2011 at the Global Time Attack event @ Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL.
